Sermon Questions:
In what ways does our western world deepen our need for silence & solitude?
What noise in your life makes it hard to focus? How does a lack of focus affect your time with God?
Historically, how has worry had an impact on your ability to rest?
Examine your closest relationships. How does a lack of quality time affect those relationships? In what ways does quality time cause your relationships to flourish?
Walk It Out:
Practice: Try to dedicate 2 minutes sitting in silence & solitude each day, increasing as you are comfortable.
Pray: Choose a particular time of the day that works best and pray in a secluded place. Pray and ask God to help you find ways to spend time with him more often.
Memorize: “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.” Mark 1:35
