Every guest of Night to Shine enters this complimentary event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Once inside, guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup stations, shoe shining stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a karaoke room, a catered dinner, prom favors for each honored guest, a respite room for parents and caretakers, and, of course, dancing! The highlight of the night comes when every one of the Night to Shine guests is crowned a king or queen of the prom.

Each honored guest is accompanied by a buddy for the night to enjoy all the evening has to offer!

Who is Night to Shine for?
Night to Shine is for individuals with special needs ages 14 and older.

About the Event:
The Date: Friday, February 7th, 2025
   6pm-9pm
   Doors open for Guests starting at 5:45pm.
The Venue:  YMCA at 3800 River Rd Yakima, WA 98902

All guests must be pre-registered. There are a limited number of spots available.

Guests must be 14 years or older. We try to pair same sex buddies when possible and pair younger volunteer buddies with younger guests when possible. Only background checked staff and volunteers will be allowed into the main event space without a volunteer escort for the safety of all the honored guests. If you plan to stay with your guest, you will need to register as a volunteer buddy and make a note of  who you wish to be paired with.  If the honored guest has their own buddy that they would like to be paired with, they can register as a volunteer buddy as well.

Buddy Volunteers- Buddies will accompany and assist their Honored Guest throughout the evening, providing companionship and any assistance they may need during the event. They will sit with their guest during dinner, dance with them and participate in all activities with them.

What do I wear? This is a prom style event, so many will be in formal wear, but we suggest each guest dress up to the level they are comfortable.

Can I store my coat somewhere? There is a coat check at the event.

Will there be food at the event? There will be a few different food options for all guests. We will also have some options for Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Sugar Free. Please note on your registration form if you need any of these or if you have other specific allergies.
